4 pm Update:
An Escaped Quincy Inmate is still on the run….yet authorities are closing in.
We spoke to Commander Wingfield with the PCSO who says they have k9 units from Butte, Yuba, and Sierra counties, along with CHP air operations assisting in tracking the escapee, 39-year-old Caleb Duerr,
Commander Wingfield confirms his latest whereabouts are known to be in the eastern part of the county. Last seen walking south along County Road A23 from Highway 70.
If you are in the area you are asked to call 9-1-1 immediately if you spot Duerr or notice any suspicious activity. Duerr is said to be violent and dangerous.
Duerr escaped the Quincy jail around 8 am. Details of his escape are unknown.
The Sheriff’s office noted He has likely changed clothing at this point out of his jail-issued clothing, He is described as a white male, standing 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 165 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Do not approach Duerr if spotted, again call 9-1-1 immediately.
Duerr was arrested in December of last year facing the following charges according to Local Crime News arrest records
236 – False Imprisonment By Violence
273.5(A) – Inflict Corporal Injury On Spouse/Cohabitant
273A(A) – Child Endangerment
422(A) – Threats Of Violence
220(A)(1) – Assault to Commit Mayhem/Rape/Etc
286(C)(2)(A) – Sodomy Against Victim’s Will by Means of Force or Fear of Bodily Injury.

An inmate on the loose in Quincy.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who sees escaped inmate Caleb Duerr to call 9-1-1 immediately as he is considered violent and dangerous.
Duerr escaped the Quincy jail around 8 am. Details of his escape are unknown.
Do not approach Duerr if spotted, call 9-1-1 immediately.
All Quincy Schools are under a shelter-in-place. According to texts that went out to parents “All students and staff are safe inside the school buildings, and no one will be allowed to enter or exit the campus until further notice.” School administration is asking that parents or family refrain from calling the schools to allow for open communication with the authorities.
