This Saturday, August 17th, Susanville Police and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be conducting a DUI checkpoint within Susanville city limits. Officers will be checking all vehicles for drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as well as those driving without a valid license.
The exact location of the checkpoint remains undisclosed. However, the CHP emphasizes that DUI checkpoints are an effective tool for ensuring road safety. By identifying and removing impaired and unlicensed drivers, these operations help prevent potentially life-altering collisions.
This enforcement effort is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
