The Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce announces that registration is now open for its highly anticipated annual 5K run/walk Turkey Trot. The event will be held Nov. 27 starting in the Bailey Creek Golf Course parking lot. Registration runs from 7 to 7:45 a.m., with a run start time of 8.
“Lace up your sneakers and get ready to burn off those Thanksgiving calories!” said the chamber. “Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking to have a good time, this event is perfect for all ages and fitness levels.” Organizers promise beautiful Lake Almanor scenery, fresh air, light refreshments at check-in and a water station.
New this year is a Turkey Toss fundraiser for all ages from 7 to 10 a.m. A pet category has also been added to this year’s Turkey Trot; organizers invite participants to bring their furry friends.
The chamber reminds participants to wear warm attire. Select participants will receive medals. Entry is $25 for adults and $15 for youth. Registration is available online. Proceeds support the Lake Almanor Fourth of July fireworks show.
