After 7 days on the run, the escaped inmate out of Butte County has been found and returned to jail, now facing an additional felony. Sheriff Honea says Miles Bondley was arrested in the South Oroville area around 6 pm last evening. Bondley escaped the county jail exercise yard on the evening of August 31st. Sheriff Honea said he was able to do so by covering the exercise yard camera with wet toilet paper, climbing a 12-foot concrete block wall, prying open the chain link fence around the top, and eventually escaping through a small hole. Honea believes the escape was pre-planned and the sheriff’s office is looking at changes to the yard that was built in the 60s to prevent future escapes. Bondley was at the facility awaiting trial for multiple felonies.
