If you were tested for COVID at the prisons from June of 2020 to January of this year your medical information may have been included in a data breach announced by CDCR. The department made the discovery early this year following routine system maintenance. Immediate action was taken and CDCR says there is no current evidence that data has been misused. Investigations into the breach just concluded this summer. The breach does include people incarcerated going back as far as 2008 to also include some financial information. If you believe you were impacted you can call two toll-free numbers that have been set up for both staff and those incarcerated. You can visit the family resources page on the CDCR website for more information.
