Plumas County Board of Supervisors looks to approve grants to be submitted to the Community Development Block Grant to fund “Greenville Economic Development” and “Countywide Disaster Recovery Planning” as well as discuss the Chester Town Plaza, and Broadband during their second monthly meeting this week. The Almanor Foundation and Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce are looking to partner with the County on that Chester Town Plaza project and appoint two supervisors to be included in negotiations. The project, located at the corner of Main Street and Willow Street has a goal of creating an authentic, grassroots, community-oriented market and recreation area that is accessible to the community and affordable to vendors. The board will also be discussing with the California Public Utility Commission and Local Agency Technical Assistance for grant funding opportunities for broadband pre-development costs in cooperation with Golden State Connect Authority (GSCA).
