Plumas Sheriff Todd Johns has secured funds for a new public works base station radio. Sheriff Johns presented to the board of supervisors on July 5 detailing the need. It was during the Dixie fire that the public works radio station was fried preventing public works from carrying on with proper communications. The sheriff asked the supervisors for a budget of up to 40,000 dollars for the purchase that comes out of the Sheriff’s Communications budget. The supervisors unanimously approved the funding.
