On Friday Sierra Pacific Industries will not permit access to their forest lands for the remainder of the wildfire season. With the increasing risk of fire and continued drought conditions for a third consecutive year, SPI has decided to close only the company’s forest lands throughout California that span across Lake Shasta, Burney, and Quincy and south toward forests outside of Lake Tahoe and Sonora. You will not be able to walk onto SPI lands yet the use of public roads through the lands will remain open. Closures could last through the fall.
