A new seat will be filled on the City of Susanville Council come next week. Russ Brown has earned the second most votes in the June 7th elections and will take one of the two full-term seats that were up. Mayor Mendy Schuster has retained her seat and will serve for another 4 years. As of the council’s June 15th meeting, it was agreed to hold a special meeting on Wednesday the 29th to seat the new council with the first order of business is passing the budget. The council will also be determining who will hold the title of Mayor as the position is appointed by a majority vote of the council members. The city will meet at City Hall starting at 5 pm on the 29th.
