More CALFire grants to beef up the state’s wildfire prevention projects. Another nearly 120 million dollars have been allocated to fund 144 local wildfire prevention projects, going to local organizations like fire safe councils to address hazards of wildfire and reduction of risks near communities. These 144 projects are in addition to the over 100 projects funded in September of last year. These grants are part of Governor Gavin Newsom’s 1.5 billion dollar investment in wildfire resilience for California, with a total of 588 projects already launched.
