Plumas Fiargrounds Hosts Wildfire Prepardeness Fair

Plumas Underburn Cooperative and the Plumas swim team will benefit from a wildfire preparedness fair tomorrow at the Plumas fairgrounds. The Plumas fire safe council invites you to come learn about home hardening, defensible space, and evacuation preparedness this Saturday. Food and beverage vendors will be there including snow cones and quintopia beer, you could win a raffle prize, as well as hear from guest speaker Yana Valachovic, the UC Cooperative Extension County Director and Forest Advisor for Humboldt and Del Norte counties. She will talk about housing arrangement and vegetation factors of single family home survival in the 2018 camp fire. There will also be a burn demonstration at 1pm from Vulcan Vents on how proper vents can protect your home. The fair starts at 10am at the fairgrounds.
