Lassen County Sheriff’s K9 Hank has been donated body armor. The non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. selected Hank after his handler Deputy Meire submitted the grant request. Hank was one of only three K9’s to be selected out of the estimated 30k K9s across the U.S. K9 Hank’s vest is sponsored by 2021 Fallen K9 Hero fundraiser hosted by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. and will be embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of the K9s who served and sacrificed in 2021”. The vest is bullet and stab proof, valued up to 2,500 dollars. Hank is expected to get his vest within eight to ten weeks.
