City Council Holds Cannabis Ordinance Public Hearing

Cannabis returns to the City council agenda for today. This is the next step in the process to bring commercial sales of marijuana within city limits. The goal aims to bring new industry to the depreciating local economy. The city planning commission Monday evening created the new ordinance that the council will be presenting in tonight’s public hearing. This will be one of the final opportunities for you to share your thoughts and opinions on allowing the industry within the designated zoned areas in the city. Following this public hearing the city council will move to approve the ordinance at its May 4th council meeting. You can attend tonight’s hearing at 5 pm at City Hall on North Lassen Street.
