Lassen County Supervisors are set to hear from several departments throughout the County tomorrow. Lassen County Public Health will be asking the Supervisors to allow the County Administrator to sign agreements to use COVID grant funding for three equipment purchases to benefit the department. Those include portable messaging signage to help direct traffic, pulse resuscitation systems, and new medical work stations. The supervisors will also hear from Lassen Municipal Utility on retaining and energizing the Hayden Hill Power line. The Sheriff’s Office will also be sharing to the supervisors an update on how to use the decommissioned Juvenile Hall that has now been modified to accommodate adults. Inspections were completed at the beginning of the month and now what to use the facility as is up for discussion. Three options are to be considered, the first two of which could bring additional funding to the county. The options are to allow the CA Department of State Hospitals to use the annex as a jail based competency treatment program for people who are deemed incompetent to stand trial, the second option, a women’s treatment facility, or a re-entry facility for the incarcerated that are nearing release. This last option would benefit the county by potentially reducing recidivism. The Board of supervisors are set to meet tomorrow beginning at 9am at the Supervisor Chambers on Nevada street.
