By January boundaries of the Sierra Nevada Conservancy will be expanded as Senator Dahle’s 208 bill has been signed by Governor Newsom. It will add a section of Siskiyou County to the Sierra Nevada Conservancy as well as increase the area of Shasta County. Dahle said “by having all these headwaters under one local agency, it will give more opportunities to manage important forest management projects as well as meadow restoration projects to ensure that we continue to have healthy forests and a robust headwaters system, ensuring all Californian’s have fresh clean water to drink and safe forests to visit.”
