The Western Pacific Railroad Museum announces two special train events to celebrate the season: the Pumpkin Patch Express and the Super Spooky Night Train.

Families can ride the Pumpkin Patch Express to get to the pumpkin patch, where they can select pumpkins for purchase. Pumpkin Patch Express trains operate the weekends of Oct. 17 and 18, and Oct. 24 and 25. Trains depart hourly from 1 to 5 p.m.

On Saturday nights, Oct. 17 and 24, the Super Spooky Night Train departs hourly between 7 and 9 p.m.

The museum opens at 10 a.m. all four days. Gates close at 6 p.m. on Sundays and 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

Admission is free for Feather River Rail Society members. Nonmember admission is $20 per carload, or $15 with the donation of four nonperishable canned goods for the Eastern Plumas Community Assistance Network, Portola’s food bank.

More information is available on the WPRM website. The museum is located at 700 Western Pacific Way.
