Modoc High School Ends JV Football Season to Focus on Varsity Program and Player Development

The following letter was issued from Modoc High School

First, thank you for your commitment to Modoc High School and our Braves Football Program. Your time, effort, and heart matter, and we appreciate all you have given to the program this season.

Unfortunately, due to roster numbers, injuries, inconsistent attendance, and academic eligibility challenges, we have made the difficult decision to dissolve the JV football program for the remainder of the season. We simply do not have the consistent numbers needed to safely and successfully maintain two teams.

We know this is disappointing, especially for the players who have worked hard and looked forward to their JV season. As we move forward, eligible sophomores will have the opportunity to compete at the varsity level. Freshmen will have the opportunity to practice and travel with the team and continue developing their skills.

We want our players to stay dialed in. Keep showing up to practice and games, keep working hard in the classroom, keep learning, and keep supporting your teammates. Your role in this program still matters, and we need you to remain committed to its future.
Rebuilding Modoc Football will take all of us. That means consistency, accountability, dedication, and follow-through from players, coaches, and everyone supporting the program.

We are committed to finding ways to strengthen our program and create opportunities for our athletes, but that work starts with each of us doing our part.

Please reach out to Coach Brogan and his staff with any questions or concerns. Athletic Director Scott Lewis and I are also available to listen and support our players and families.

Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and continued support of Modoc Braves Football.

We are disappointed that we have to make this decision, but we remain hopeful about what we can build together moving forward.
Respectfully, written,
Kristen Budmark,Principal and Scott Lewis, Athletic Director
