The Feather River College rodeo team opened its 2026–27 season in impressive fashion, earning several event championships and strong team finishes while hosting the first two rodeos of the year on its home ground.
The FRC men captured the team championship at Feather River Rodeo 1 before placing second at Feather River Rodeo 2. The Golden Eagle women finished fourth in both competitions.
Feather River Rodeo 1
The Golden Eagle men claimed first place in the team standings, while the women finished fourth.
Wyatt Bullivant placed third in the men’s all-around competition, and Canyon Darger earned second place in the women’s all-around.
FRC collected victories in two riding events. Ian Livingstone won saddle bronc riding, with Cash Parker placing third. In bareback riding, Vinny Templeton captured first place and Ian Leavitt finished second.

- Steer Wrestling: James Peterson, fourth; Cache Montgomery, eighth

- Barrel Racing: Canyon Darger, fifth
- Breakaway Roping: Morgann Miller and Hi’ilei Gacayan, tied for third; Canyon Darger, seventh
- Goat Tying: Hailey Hicks, fifth
Feather River Rodeo 2
The Golden Eagle men followed their opening victory with a second-place team finish, while the FRC women again placed fourth.
Feather River competitors recorded victories in three events. Livingstone won the saddle bronc long go and finished second in the average. Leavitt won both the bareback long go and average, while Hunter Maxwell swept the bull riding competition by winning the long go and average.
Other Feather River Rodeo 2 results included:
- Tie-Down Roping: Colton Hein, first in the long go and fifth in the average; Wyatt Bullivant, 10th in the long go
- Steer Wrestling: Cache Montgomery, fifth in the long go and sixth in the average
- Team Roping: Wyatt Bullivant (header) and Tucker Alexander (heeler), third in the long go and fifth in the average
- Breakaway Roping: Hailey Hicks, tied for fifth in the long go and eighth in the average
Golden Eagles Well Represented in Regional Standings
Following the opening weekend, the Feather River men sit second in the West Coast Region team standings, while the Golden Eagle women are fourth.
Leavitt leads the regional bareback standings, with Templeton ranked second. Maxwell holds the top position in bull riding, while Livingstone ranks second and Parker third in saddle bronc riding.
Bullivant and Alexander are third in team roping. Hein ranks seventh and Bullivant eighth in tie-down roping, while Peterson and Montgomery stand seventh and ninth, respectively, in steer wrestling.
On the women’s side, Gacayan and Miller are tied for sixth in breakaway roping, Darger ranks ninth in barrel racing and 13th in breakaway roping, and Hicks holds ninth place in goat tying.
The Golden Eagles will return to competition November 12–15 when they travel to rodeos in Clovis and Bakersfield.
