Golden Eagles Shut Out Lake Tahoe, Set Stage for Friday’s Home Match Against Butte

Feather River College men’s soccer earned its sixth consecutive victory Friday, October 2, defeating Lake Tahoe Community College 2–0. The Golden Eagles improved to 7–2–2 overall and 2–0 in Golden Valley Conference play, setting up a big home matchup against Butte College on Friday, October 9, at 4 p.m.

Sophomore Pablo Guevara-Mangas (Irun, Spain) scored both goals for Feather River, with sophomore Tim Van Lottum (Brumen, Netherlands) providing the assist on each.

Guevara-Mangas opened the scoring in the 11th minute, giving the Golden Eagles a 1–0 advantage they carried into halftime. The pair connected again in the 77th minute, doubling Feather River’s lead and providing an important cushion down the stretch.

Sophomore goalkeeper Liam Keeble (South Woodham Ferrers, England) recorded 11 saves over 90 minutes to secure the shutout. Keeble and the Golden Eagle defense kept Lake Tahoe off the scoreboard as Feather River remained unbeaten in conference play.

With six straight wins behind them, the Golden Eagles now return to Quincy to host Butte in an important GVC contest. Students, families, alumni and community members are encouraged to attend as Feather River College looks to extend its winning streak.
