CAL FIRE Lassen-Modoc Unit personnel successfully completed the 450-acre prescribed burn in the Muck Valley area of Lassen County.
The project focused on reducing hazardous vegetation and fuel buildup, managing noxious weeds, and improving rangeland health. This work also helps reduce the potential for future wildfires to spread toward and threaten surrounding communities.
Prescribed fire is an important tool that allows us to safely reduce fuels under carefully planned conditions while helping create healthier, more resilient landscapes.
