Lassen County Waterworks District No. 1 Schedules Routine Hydrant Flushing for Sept. 21

BIEBER, CA — Lassen County Waterworks District No. 1 has issued a public notice informing residents that routine fire hydrant flushing is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 21, 2026.

The operation is part of the District’s regular maintenance program designed to clear sediment build-up from water mains and improve overall water quality across the community.

Flushing operations will occur throughout the day on Monday. During this period, local residents may notice minor interruptions to their water service, including:

  • Temporarily discolored (brown or reddish) tap water
  • Lower than normal water pressure

What Residents Should Do

If discolored water appears at the tap, district officials advise customers to run their cold water faucets for a few minutes until the stream clears. Standard water service and pressure are expected to fully return by the end of the day.

”We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to keep your water system in good condition,” stated General Manager Kody Smith in the notice.

Residents with questions or concerns regarding the maintenance work can contact the Lassen County Waterworks District No. 1 office at (530) 278-6476 or visit their website at Lcwd1.org.
