Deputies from the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office and Plumas County Search and Rescue responded to an overturned boat near the Camp Five boat launch at Lake Davis during an off-highway vehicle patrol yesterday.
They found an elderly man who had capsized in a small skiff. Two bystanders helped him reach the shore safely. Eastern Plumas Ambulance medics evaluated him on site.
The man wore a life jacket. That likely prevented a tragedy.
Wearing a life jacket while on the water can save your life. Always keep yours on.
