Summary;
During the evening hours of August 23, 2026, the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 38000 block of Mineral Avenue in Mineral, California.
Tehama County Sheriff’s deputies, assisted by California Highway Patrol officers from the Susanville Area, responded to the residence. Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased female at the residence. The female appeared to have sustained injuries to the head consistent with being struck by a blunt object. An object believed to have been used during the incident was located and recovered as evidence.
Toyla Ray Muer was transported to the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office, where he was interviewed regarding the incident. Following the interview and further investigation, Muer was arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail on a charge of murder.
The investigation remains ongoing and there is no believed threat to the public at this time.
