New Medication Drop Boxes Available in Northern California Communities
New household unwanted medication drop boxes available in Redding and Loyalton, California
Redding, CA – Two new household unwanted medication drop boxes were recently installed near Northern California rural communities, providing residents in and around Shasta and Sierra Counties with easy access to free unwanted medication disposal. These drop boxes are among the latest additions to MED-Project’s statewide network of convenient drop boxes for household unwanted medication.
Drop boxes are now located at:
CVS Pharmacy, 1060 E Cypress Ave, Redding, CA 96002
Sierra County Probation Department, 105 Beckwith Street, Loyalton, CA 96118
In addition to secure drop boxes, MED-Project provides free mail-back services, offering residents an accessible household medication disposal option from the convenience of their homes.
“Safe medication disposal should be convenient to access from where you live,” said Dr. Victoria Travis, National Program Director at MED-Project. “Each new drop box brings this important service closer to California residents, making it easier to keep expired or unwanted medications out of homes.”
MED-Project’s state-approved take-back program for household medications has been active across California since 2021. Residents can locate a medication drop box near them, request a mail-back package, or find out about accepted items at MED-Project.org, or (844) MED-PROJECT.
