The 105th Modoc District Fair opens Thursday, August 27th, at the Fair Grounds in Cedarville, California, running through Sunday, August 30th.
You need to submit your entries by 6 pm Friday, August 14th, at the Fair Office in Cedarville. This deadline covers all Building Exhibits, Livestock Show, Horse Show, Dog Show, Weiner Dog/Wannabe Races, Car Show, Sheep Dog Trials, Greased Pig Contest, and Kid’s Day Rodeo events.
Rancher’s Day entries require a postmark by Friday, August 14th. Main Street Parade entries are due by 5 pm Friday, August 28th, in the Fair Office.
Youth exhibitors aged 3 to 17 receive cash awards for each building exhibit: $6 for first place, $4 for second, and $2 for third. Senior exhibitors compete for a $25 Best in Show Award across Agriculture, Arts and Crafts, Baking and Confections, Floral, Photography, and Sewing and Textiles departments. Seniors can also win 10 pounds of sugar from Wagon Wheel Farm for first place in specific baking and confections divisions.
The American Flag Wood Pallet Contest offers $250 for first place, $100 for second, and $50 for third. This contest requires a $25 entry fee and limits one entry per individual, group, or family, open to ages 18 and over.
The Best Scarecrow Display contest welcomes all ages with a $25 cash prize. The Education category focusing on Science, Engineering, and Technology awards $25.
