Feather River College announces it is welcoming a new class of students for the fall 2026 semester, which officially begins Monday, Aug. 17.
A new student orientation and welcome dinner is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 14, along with a variety of events to help welcome students back during their first week of classes, said FRC. Events range from rock painting and free breakfasts on campus, to pool parties and a barbecue dinner at Pioneer Pool, to bowling and games with a live DJ at Sierra Bella Lanes.
The college said the goal is “to introduce students to the local vibrant community, while also creating a sense of belonging for students who may be away from home for the first time.”
“Each new semester brings radiant energy to campus and the town of Quincy as FRC welcomes students from all over the world to our small community,” said Nick Maffei, FRC director of marketing, communications and outreach. “FRC is excited to help introduce students to the many resources, eclectic events and amazing local organizations here in Quincy.”
He promised there will be plenty more events throughout the semester that bring students into the community and local businesses, many of which offer student discounts.
FRC has already welcomed its fall student-athletes back to campus, and sports programs are well underway with practices for football, soccer and volleyball, said Maffei. Many home games are scheduled to take place on the FRC campus. The full list of sports schedules is available at athletics.frc.edu.
Maffei said a selection of short-term or weekend classes offered this semester is always of interest to local residents. These classes do require registration through the usual college registration process.
