A 47-year-old Graeagle man was arrested Thursday following an early morning shooting in Delleker that left one person critically injured.
According to the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched shortly after 2:00 a.m. on July 30 after the Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a shooting at a residence on Delleker Park Drive.
Deputies, assisted by officers from the California Highway Patrol and fire and medical personnel, arrived to find an adult male suffering from what appeared to be a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a trauma center, where he remains in critical condition.
Sheriff’s investigators launched an extensive investigation at the scene and identified the suspect as Michael Romero. Following a search of the area, Romero was located in his vehicle in the Graeagle area and taken into custody without incident.
Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
