Size & Containment: Approx. 5,782 acres and 0% contained as of July 29. Fire activity remained active, with the fire making its greatest movement to the north while continuing to spread more slowly along the south and southeast sides. The southwest edge remained largely in check.
Evacuations: No evacuations and no publicly accessible structures are threatened.
Closures: The fire is burning within a restricted area that is closed to public access. No additional public closures are in effect.

Update: Firefighters spent much of the day scouting the incident and confirming fire activity through aerial reconnaissance. Helicopters supported suppression efforts while firefighters identified management action points and prepared water sources to support aviation operations. Active fire behavior remains possible during the afternoon, including rapid fire spread and spotting. Spotting occurs when wind carries burning embers ahead of the main fire, starting new fires.
ire Outlook: Hot, dry weather will continue through the week. Afternoon winds and very dry conditions could support continued fire spread, while poor overnight moisture recovery could allow the fire to remain active into the night. Fire managers expect the fire to continue spreading in multiple directions depending on wind conditions.
Objective: Firefighters will continue assessing conditions and preparing for suppression opportunities. Where terrain or fire conditions make it unsafe to work directly on the fire’s edge, crews will use indirect suppression strategies, building and strengthening containment lines in safer locations to slow the fire’s spread before engaging it directly when conditions allow.
