After years of connecting with the public online, the Sierra Army Depot will say goodbye to social media next month.
In a message to followers, the depot announced that all TACOM social media pages will be deactivated on Wednesday, Aug. 5, in accordance with Army Directive 2026-17.
While regular updates on social media are coming to an end, depot officials emphasized that the public will still have several ways to follow its mission and the work being done to support Soldiers around the world.
The Sierra Army Depot will continue sharing information through its official website, along with photos and videos available on DVIDS and Flickr. Army news will also remain available through Army news outlets and the My Army Post App.
Officials also encouraged followers to stay connected by following the U.S. Army Materiel Command on social media for highlights related to TACOM and its subordinate organizations.
In closing, the depot thanked its online community for its support and engagement over the years, saying that although its social media presence is ending, it looks forward to continuing to share its “Commitment to Excellence” through other platforms.
