Zoe Elizabeth Whipple, 34, from Indian Valley, appeared in Plumas County Superior Court on July 10. She faces multiple felony charges, including furnishing a controlled substance to a minor.
District Attorney David Hollister filed a six-count complaint on May 13. The preliminary hearing will take place on September 11.
Whipple faces two counts of felony solicitation of a minor to use or sell narcotics, two counts of felony sale of cannabis, one count of felony child endangerment, and one misdemeanor count of child neglect.
She was released from custody on her own recognizance. Whipple has been temporarily suspended from her position as a state employee in the Plumas County Courthouse clerk’s office.
Judge Mark Nareau of Lassen County Superior Court is presiding over the case. The Plumas County Superior Court judge recused himself when the complaint was filed.
If convicted, Whipple could face up to nine years in state prison.
