In the spirit of America250 celebrations happening nationwide, RNO encourages travelers to plan ahead in the name of life, liberty and the pursuit of smooth travel.
RENO, Nev. (July 1, 2026) – Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) is gearing up for busy Independence Day travel as America250 celebrations continue, marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
RNO expects between 16,000-19,000 passengers to arrive and depart per day, with peak travel days being Thursday, July 2; Friday, July 3; Sunday, July 5 and Monday, July 6. Compared to 2025’s Independence Day travel period, RNO anticipates a 5% increase in departing passengers for 2026, a growth attributed to strong passenger demand and airlines adding more than 40,000 new seats throughout the current season.
