VP2 Road Rehabilitation Project- Upcoming Weekend Work

SHARE NOW

Caltrans will conduct weekend work on the VP2 Road Rehabilitation project, which will completely restore the roadway with paving and widening, and improve ride quality on State Route (SR) 99 in Tehama County. Work includes paving driveway and road connections, improving pedestrian facilities and drainage in southern Los Molinos and installing lighting. The project also includes installing and replacing guardrail, installing rail element wall at several fill locations, and census loops and piezos, and upgrading CCTV elements.

The road rehabilitation project will span from southern Los Molinos to the Tehama/Butte County line on SR 99.

Tentatively starting Friday afternoon (June 12th), there will be 24-hour traffic control north of the South Avenue roundabout on SR 99 until Sunday (June 14th). Expected delays are anticipated to not exceed 30 minutes during full reconstruction of the roadway. Following the weekend traffic control, construction operations will revert back to normal weekday/daytime construction operations within the project limits.

The $49.1 million project includes 115 working days, with all days requiring traffic control. Night work will be used to alleviate traffic delays when feasible and safe. The entire project is expected to be completed by the fall of 2026.

DeSilva Gates Construction LLC, North Region Construction and Caltrans District 2 thank the traveling public and local communities for their patience during the construction of the project.
