The Feather River Land Trust announces two upcoming Birding, Boating, and Botany sessions: May 16 and May 23, both Saturdays. The outings include walking and kayaking, and run from 7 to 11 a.m. Participants meet at the Sierra Valley Preserve’s west entrance.

Organizers invite participants to experience Sierra Valley by water as they explore the channels of the wetlands and see Sierra Valley’s abundant bird life, guided by wildlife biologist Paul Hardy.

Participants will be divided into two groups. While one group explores via kayak, the other will embark on a bird and plant walk with expert guides. Then the two groups will switch.

Kayaks and life jackets are provided. Space is limited. Tickets cost $140 per person, and are available online for the May 16 and May 23 events.
