The Modoc National Forest warns visitors to expect road work in the Jess Valley and Blue Lake areas this summer.

Road construction will take place from May through October 2026. This work may cause delays for those traveling to the South Warner Mountain Recreation Areas.

The affected routes include about six miles of Blue Lake Road, from the junction of County Road 64 and Jess Valley Road to where Blue Lake Road meets South Warner Road.

Construction will also impact Blue Lake Campground, including the entrance cattleguard, the day-use area, boat launch, and campground loops.

Plan your trip with extra time to navigate these areas. Check the Modoc National Forest website for updates and details on the construction schedule.

How might these delays affect your summer plans? Adjusting your travel times or routes could help you avoid long waits.
