The Golden Eagles softball team moved to 12-2 in GVC Conference play and maintain a 1-game lead over Lassen College for the GVC Conference Championship. On tax day (Wednesday, April 15th) the Golden Eagles defeated Butte College (5-1 and 7-0) behind a dominant Brittney Byram and her 14 innings of 1 run allowed performance from the rubber. Byram allowed just 7 hits, while striking out 11 batters in 2 games pitched (14 innings, 2 complete game victories). The Golden Eagles have also continued to muscle up at the plate as Lily Lee (Carson City, NV) hit her 7th dinger on the season (13th career HR at Feather River College) and Mya Roberts (Markleeville, CA) hit her 3rd bomb (6th career HR). Sophomore Faith Helmandollar (Queen Creek, AZ) hit her 3rd Homerun of the season in dramatic fashion when she launched a softball into orbit in the 6th inning, resulting in a grand slam. The HR was the Golden Eagles 3rd on the day (2 games) and established a commanding 7 run lead entering the final frame. FRC will play the most important Double Header of the season on Saturday, April 18th at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM versus Lassen College. The games will take place at home and we encourage all to come and support!!
