CAL FIRE, through its California Climate Investments (CCI) Program, awarded Lassen Fire Safe Council a FY 2025-26 Wildfire Prevention Grant of $949,999.43 to continue and expand its successful Lassen County defensible space assistance program.
LFSC’s defensible space program includes no-cost property assessments, homeowner education, and treatment of eligible properties for vulnerable residents (i.e., low-income, disadvantaged, seniors, disabled, or veterans) throughout Lassen County. The work will focus on the 0-100 foot zone around homes, Zone 0-2 in the graphic.
To begin the process and express interest in participating, please follow this link below and complete and submit the online form. There will be more interest than there will be funds, so please complete and submit as early as possible and spread the word to all your Lassen County neighbors. Unfortunately, the grant is only available to Lassen County residents.
