The California Community College Fastpitch Coaches’ Association reports that Brittney Byram, of Feather River College, earned its pitcher of the week award for the season’s Week 7. Byram joins Fernanda Cano, of Chaffey College, who earned players of the week. The two student-athletes powered their squads to a combined 8-1 week.
Byram was a workhorse out in the circle for the Golden Eagles, pitching in all four of Feather River’s contests in the previous week. She struck out 28 hitters in 21.1 innings pitched, picking up three wins. Byram’s two best starts were three-run complete games, each with five strikeouts to help the Golden Eagles beat No. 17 Folsom Lake and San Jose City.
