Feather River College Athletics announced yesterday that Ashanti Stewart has been named January’s athlete of the month, joining Armon Baker from the men’s programs.
Stewart received the honor after a strong stretch of growth and production during conference play, said coaches. Throughout the month, she showed noticeable improvement in confidence, consistency and overall impact on both ends of the floor.
Her highlight performance came against College of the Siskiyous, where she scored a conference-high 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, recording her first conference double-double.
“Ashanti’s continued development and commitment to improving each day have made a significant difference for our program, and we look forward to seeing her build on this momentum,” said coaches.
