DEFENDANT MATTHEW BOLDT REMANDED WITHOUT BAIL FOLLOWING ARRAIGNMENT
Alturas, California -The Modoc County District Attorney’s Office announces that defendant Matthew Alexander Boldt was remanded into custody without bail following his arraignment on February 23, 2026, in Modoc County Superior Court.
Boldt was arrested in Alturas, California, and is facing multiple felony charges, including attempted murder (Penal Code §§ 664/187(a)), torture (Penal Code § 206), mayhem (Penal Code § 203), assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury- two counts (Penal Code § 245(a)(4)), criminal threats (Penal Code § 422(a)), and false imprisonment (Penal Code § 236), along with additional violent felony charges and several special allegations.
At the arraignment before the Honorable Randal Harr, our office argued for Boldt to be remanded, and the Court, in agreement with that request, ordered him held in custody without bail. His next hearing is scheduled for April 6, 2026.
