Quincy High School Yearbook and Graphic Design students have been busy this year producing some great work! In these CTE Media Arts classes, led by Visual and Media Arts teacher Danielle Frid, students explore the fundamentals of visual communication including: color, typography, layout, and photography as they design digital images.
They learn to use industry-standard software like the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) while developing skills in branding, print design, web design, and photo editing. They work with state-of-the-art photography studio equipment, professional cameras, printers, drawing tablets, Cricut Makers, heat press machines, and more.
While the Yearbook students create the QJSHS Yearbook, the Graphic Design students create greeting cards, posters, postcards, t-shirts, calendars, deck of cards, and much more! They learn about the history of, and careers in, graphic design.
These classes foster soft skills like creative problem-solving, communication, collaboration, business-driven requirements, and time management.
