The Plumas National Forest announces it is welcoming public input to develop grant applications for California State Parks Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division Grant Program recreation funds.

Grants support priority motorized trail maintenance activities and are key to ensuring the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service provides public access to motorized recreationists across the state, said PNF.

The Forest Service is soliciting public input to reflect the needs of recreation users as personnel move forward with the next round of grant proposals.

Public comments may be submitted for consideration March 3 through May 4. Those interested can review directions and information on how to submit comments on the online grants application site. The site will be updated March 3 with the link to review draft grant applications and the option to submit comments.

A public meeting is set for Feb. 10, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Quincy library, 445 Jackson St.

Forest staff will consider the public comments received as they develop the final grant application for submission in June.
