Feather River Adult School announces a free culinary Level 1 class to be held at Quincy Junior-Senior High School. Topics to be covered include
- Safety, sanitation and equipment
- Preparation techniques and knife skills
- Seasonal foods and table service
- Sauces, soups and dressings
- Breads, pastry basics, proteins and pastas
Food handler certification is available.
Classes will be held Tuesdays and Wednesdays 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. from Feb. 10 to April 30. During the bread section of the class, additional days will be added. The class will not meet on Plumas Unified School District breaks: Feb. 17 and 18 and April 7 and 8.
FRAS offers priority registration for tradespeople and those interested in exploring culinary arts as a career. The class is limited to 12 people; a waitlist is available. More information, including registration and forms, is available at fras.pcoe.k12.ca.us.
