The Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce reports that it is currently accepting applications for the second round of funding in its business grant program. So far, the chamber has awarded nearly $10,000 of the $45,000 it received from Plumas County to support growth and recovery for local businesses.
The chamber said this funding initiative is part of the American Rescue Plan Act, which is dedicated to enhancing technology and economic development. The program is specifically designed to reimburse a portion of business-related expenses for chamber members. Grant program awards will be given on a first-come, first-served basis for those who meet the criteria.
Eligibility requirements
To apply, businesses must be located within the Lake Almanor Basin, with a physical address within Plumas County, and also be an active member of the Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce for at least six months. Applications are open to all businesses, including retail, service, manufacturing and nonprofit entities. Federal, state and local government entities are excluded.
Applicants must have all necessary local, state and federal licenses and permits required for business operations. They must be able to submit copies of a current business license with the application for funding. Nonprofits must be in good standing for tax purposes.
