The Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce reports that its Thanksgiving Turkey Trot was a fantastic way to kick off Thanksgiving morning. Over 70 runners, walkers and strollers came together at Bailey Creek, showcasing the true community spirit of the Lake Almanor Basin and raising over $1,000 for the local Fourth of July fireworks show.
The chamber invites everyone to gather again this New Year’s Eve for a skate and light show in support of the Fourth of July fireworks, which will be set off over Lake Almanor. The Chester Park ice rink will be open from 4 to 9 p.m., offering an opportunity to glide with friends and family before organizers light up the night sky at 9 p.m. with a light show.
Participants are invited to dress in red, white and blue. The events includes music, food, drinks, games and prizes throughout the evening.
