North State Giving Tuesday (NSGT) once again demonstrated the extraordinary generosity of our
region, raising $1,454,629 in 14 hours to benefit nonprofit organizations across Shasta, Siskiyou,
Trinity, Tehama and Modoc counties. Powered by the Community Foundation of the North State
(CFNS), this year’s event achieved several major milestones, including the highest number of
donations ever recorded and the largest average gift in the event’s 12-year history.
This year’s event drew over 3,500 donors who came together with nearly 8,000 donations to support
local nonprofits. With contributions arriving from 6am to 8pm, the momentum never slowed –
reflecting the North State’s deep commitment to compassion, resilience, and local impact.
“We are humbled by the community’s response,” said Miriam Leal, Chief Operating Officer of the
Community Foundation of the North State and lead for NSGT. “Every donation, small or large,
represents someone choosing to invest in the well-being of their community. Seeing record
participation and the highest average gift ever underscores the unwavering generosity of our region.”
More than 220 nonprofits participated this year, representing a wide range of causes from youth
development and animal welfare to arts, environmental stewardship, and critical social services. The
funds raised help organizations continue providing vital programs, sustaining operations, and meeting
growing community needs.
North State Giving Tuesday is designed to make charitable giving simple and impactful, offering a
secure online platform, matching opportunities, and the chance for nonprofits to build awareness and
connect with new supporters. To kickoff generosity, CFNS provides over $60,000 in incentive prizes
for the nonprofits and local businesses partner with us to sponsor additional prize opportunities. Each
year, donors consistently show up in force, reinforcing the strength and unity of the North State.
The Community Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to every donor, nonprofit, volunteer,
sponsor, and ambassador who made the day a success.
“North State Giving Tuesday isn’t just an online event, it’s a powerful reminder of what we can
accomplish when we come together,” added Leal. “Our region continues to show that generosity is one
of our greatest strengths.”
