California Department of Fish & Wildlife’s ongoing effort to solicit as much public input as possible in developing a Statewide Deer Conservation and Management Plan, CDFW is hosting a public meeting Monday, Dec. 8 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Redding at the Shasta College Farm Pavillion building on the eastern edge of campus (map below). This regionally focused meeting follows the virtual public workshop and in-person meetings held in Sacramento in September and another in-person regional meeting set for Bishop in early December. In Redding, CDFW biologists will explain the objectives and content of the draft Deer Conservation and Management Plan followed by a question-and-answer session with the public. The informal meeting will offer an opportunity to meet some of CDFW’s wildlife biologists, wildlife officers and other local staff. Hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts interested in deer management are encouraged to attend. On-campus parking is free to the public after 5 p.m. For more information about the Statewide Deer Conservation and Management Plan, please contact: Brian Leo, CDFW Statewide Deer Coordinator, at [email protected].
