North State Giving Tuesday, set for Tuesday, December 2 from 6AM – 8PM this year, offers an
opportunity to leverage the power of collective philanthropy. With more than 210 nonprofits from Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, Modoc, and Trinity counties participating, Giving Tuesday utilizes the online platform at www.northstategives.org to accept donations and help organizations fundraiser.
The Community Foundation of the North State and presenting sponsor Columbia Bank host Giving Tuesday. Similar in format to online shopping, donors can make donations starting at $10 to one or more of their favorite organizations adding to their cart as they look through the participating nonprofits online. Early Giving opened on November 18th, so the website is currently active and accepting donations. On December 2nd, the day of Giving Tuesday, prize money will allow organizations to boost their dollars and hourly prizes are awarded sponsored by local businesses.
“North State Giving Tuesday has collectively raised over $10 million dollars for our communities,” said Kerry Caranci, Chief Executive Officer of the Community Foundation. “We see year after year the depth of generosity in the North State and know that this is an opportunity to bolster all the amazing work being done by our nonprofits.”
The 14-hour North State Giving Tuesday online event kicks off the ‘charitable season’ and is largely powered by social media marketing and grassroots campaigns.
