Chester Cemetery Seeks Funds for Storm-Damaged Tree Removal After Dixie Fire Recovery

The Chester Cemetery District reports that it has been hit with a financial challenge: A recent storm brought down one of the property’s large pine trees, which now needs to be removed. The good news is that there was little to no damage to the grounds or to any of the grave sites. However, organizers say that in order to remove the tree, the district needs additional funds to hire a company that specializes in tree removal.

The district recently celebrated its rebuild grand opening over Memorial Day weekend after nearly being destroyed in the 2021 Dixie Fire. Organizers say they appreciate all those who helped restore the cemetery.
