Plumas League of Women Voters Annual Essay Contest on Defining Adulthood for High School Students

The League of Women Voters of Plumas County is conducting its annual essay contest. This year’s theme asks “What is the real age of adulthood?”

There are many different rules and laws that define “adulthood. The league urges all high school student to submit an essay describing their view of what adulthood means (or should mean).

Named in honor of the late Nancy Lund, an original member of the local league, the contest is open to 9th through 12th grade students attending public, charter or private schools, as well as to students being home schooled.

All essays must be submitted by email to [email protected] and must include a cover page with the student’s name, home mailing address and telephone number, as well as their school, grade level, and teacher’s name. The deadline for submitting essays is Nov. 14.
