High Winds Close Highway 395 Cause Power Outages and Road Hazards in Susanville Area

The storm Wednesday brought high winds closing Highways, causing big rig to blow over closing HWY 395 by Milford.

The wind caused down power lines and trees, power outages and school delays.  Susanville CHP reminds everyone that emergency vehicles, tow trucks, and Department of Transportation vehicles, are all out on the roads.

The workers were out of the pickup clearing a tree from the roadway when the pickup was hit. Luckily nobody was injured in this crash. When you see the flashing lights, please, please, please, move over or slow down to a reasonable speed safe for conditions.

Lassen Municipal Utility District  crews are still responding to numerous outages throughout the service territory. They are repairing damaged poles and wires as quickly and safely as possible. The most extensive damage is to our Eagle Lake line, affecting approximately 500 customers. Westwood is also experiencing extensive outages.
